課程概述

Students will develop various writing skills through this module. The instructor emphasizes critical thinking as well as creative ideas, and students will exchange their ideas during class discussion before or after writing their short essays. The module also trains students to discuss their compositions in oral presentations.  

課程目標
The goal of this course is to introduce some of the main modes of English writing through detailed readings of models by experts, former students, and the instructor. The course aims to help students develop skills through academic writing practices and exchanging ideas/opinions. Creative writing is also included.  
課程要求
Students will submit paragraphs, 600-word essays or longer articles. They have to give three presentations.

All student essays, unless otherwise announced, will be available for the class to read and discuss as course materials.

Grading:
1. Attendance is mandatory.
2. Class participation and discussion (20%); presentations (30%); essays (50%).
